ABOUT
Sound City, the UK’s leading independent festival and conference for new music, is returning for another whirlwind weekend in 2021.
Liverpool is known all over the world for its musical heritage and emits a creative buzz unlike any other city in the UK. Sound City captures the vibrancy of the city with an unforgettable 3 day festival that sees established names perform alongside a constant stream of local, national and international emerging talent. After hosting numerous iterations of Sound City across 3 different continents over the last 13 years, this year the festival will once again return to the Baltic Triangle, the epicentre of culture and creativity in Liverpool.
Across the weekend the streets of the Baltic Triangle are filled with opportunity for inspiration and discovery. Whether you absorb the city’s rich musical history as you wander, or move from venue to venue in a quest to find your new favourite artist, anybody who visits Sound City leaves with a deeper understanding of the musical histories of the past, present and future.
The Sound City+ conference will once again return to the British Music Experience, located in the Cunard Building on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront, with further workshops and collaborative opportunities taking place in venues across the Baltic Triangle. An internationally renowned music industry conference, Sound City+ offers the chance to engage with, learn from and share ideas with leading industry professionals across a multitude of expertise. For anybody looking to begin or further a career in the music industry, Sound City+ is an absolute must.
Sound City will build upon our commitment to the Keychange initiative as we strive towards a 50/50 gender split across both the festival and conference, something we were proud to achieve with Sound City+ in 2019.
