Following the Sound City training course I achieved a gold arts award with Peter Shilton which helped to fund my band (Novustory) with recording a single in a swanky studio - I’d never have contemplated a gold arts award had I not have attended the training course.

After the recording session we took ourselves on a European tour, gigging in Brussels, France and Amsterdam, and when we came back from the tour, myself and the drummer moved our recording equipment out of the tiny shed we were working from in Tottington and set up a proper working studio in Blackburn. We’ve since worked with a lot of different bands and artists and I’m essentially living my dream job.

I really benefitted from the Liverpool sound city course - the people I was exposed to during each session gave really invaluable, real world advice that motivated and inspired me throughout my own journey. I’ve had Kojo’s words ringing in my ears like a mantra ever since - “Luck is just when had work and opportunity meet”.
